Mandatory Gear
Mandatory Gear & Runner Safety
During the month of December, in the Al Hajar Mountain range, weather conditions can vary significantly. While daytime temperatures may be mild or warm, conditions can quickly change with strong winds, cold nights, sudden temperature drops at altitude, and the possibility of storms in exposed mountain areas.
Your equipment must be suitable for all potential conditions and allow you to remain self-sufficient on the race route, including the possibility of spending one or more nights outdoors, depending on your pace and race progression. In the event of an incident, your equipment must also allow you to wait safely for the arrival of the rescue team.
All mandatory equipment must be carried at all times, from the start to the finish of the race. Failure to comply will result in penalties or disqualification. Race officials may conduct equipment checks at any point during the event.
Please note: the mandatory equipment list represents a minimum safety requirement. Each runner is responsible for adapting their gear according to their experience, ability, and personal needs. We strongly recommend testing your equipment during training, under different weather and terrain conditions, to ensure it is suitable for race day.

Weather Mandatory Kits
The Hot Weather Kit and Bad Weather Kit are part of the mandatory equipment. Depending on the weather, the organization may require runners to carry extra mandatory items. If this happens, runners will be informed before race pack collection.
Runners must wear suitable clothing for mountain conditions, including protection from cold and wind, to stay safe and perform well. All clothing must fit properly and must not be modified.
All mandatory equipment must be carried in one bag, which will be tagged when you collect your race bib. This bag cannot be changed during the race.
